Meru's Wireless Intrusion Prevention System (WIPS) module may be configured in any way that the user sees fit and comes equipped with a fundamental collection of signatures that correspond to common types of wireless attacks.

Meru is enhancing its capabilities to monitor the radio frequency and identify illegal access points (APs) via the use of WIPS. If an unauthorized person obtains access to the network, IT managers will be able to spot an intrusion and put countermeasures into place thanks to the adjustments that have been made. WIPS offers protection against various types of cyberattacks, including denial of service attacks, backdoor attacks, cracking passwords, physical layer attacks, spoofing, and hacking tools.

Using both preset and user-defined signatures, WIPS is able to identify wireless intrusions on an integrated platform along with other WLAN management applications.
