Meraki MR20 - Wireless Access Point
Getting started with Meraki is easier than ever. The MR20 is Meraki's new entry-level 802.11ac Wave 2 access point, priced competitively for small offices or any situation where rapid "best effort" deployments are called for.
The MR20 has two antennas in a 2x2 MU-MIMO array, one 2.4ghz and one 5ghz. Combined, they can offer up to 1.3Gbps in throughput. Unlike other Meraki access points, the MR20 does not include a WiFi tracking radio for security and device tracking, or a Bluetooth beacon. Operations in need of these features should instead look to the next model up, the MR33.
Like all Meraki products, the MR20 features the most robust and intelligent combination of onboard and administrative software on the market. The cloud-aware operating system is able to link any number of Meraki devices, self-optimizing to make best use of their capabilities. When new hardware is added, the system detects the new devices and makes them part of its service mesh. Should a device fail, the system is self-healing and capable of routing around the problem. The MR20 is also consistently watching for software updates, and will automatically install them as soon as they are released.
Administrators can enjoy a simplified management experience, without sacrificing power, through the Meraki Dashboard. From one device, to hundreds, the Meraki Dashboard allows total oversight and control over the entire network in a single scalable interface. Administrators can implement top-level global security policies, or micro-manage "Layer 7" user- and device-level connections. No other interface on the market offers this combination of power and simplicity in usage.
The Meraki MR20 is a basic AP intended for situations where the user base is small and non-intensive bandwidth applications. To learn more about specific features of the MR20, click through to the product page or contact Hummingbird Networks directly for information.
